What it is, who it's for and what to know
A fabric stretch ceiling is polyester impregnated with polyurethane. Not film — actual fabric: feels like a dense matte canvas. Its biggest advantage is a seamless sheet up to 5 metres wide (PVC film can't do that).
Used where film doesn't work: large living rooms and halls, unheated spaces (film is afraid of frost down to –5°C, fabric isn't), cottages and country houses. Also chosen for upscale interiors — the texture is more refined, closer to classic plaster.
Costs 2-3× more than PVC but lasts longer. Stronger than PVC — won't tear from a champagne cork or a flying toy. Odorless during installation (PVC needs heating with a heat gun and smells for 2-3 hours afterwards). Certified for residential use.
