Fabric or PVC ceiling — what’s better for an apartment

Matte PVC and other films are the default for most flats: price, moisture resistance, gloss/satin options, flood protection. Heat-gun install, usually one day.

Odorless MSD is certified for homes, kids’ rooms and bedrooms. Finishes: matte, gloss, satin, colors — wide palette.

When flooded from above PVC holds water — practical in Tashkent apartment blocks. Fabric doesn’t.

Fabric suits bedrooms and living rooms when you want a premium textile look and cold install without heavy heating. Higher price; wet rooms usually aren’t ideal.

Fabric rolls are wider than PVC — large rooms often without a center seam. Matte surface, no plastic sheen.

No heat gun — a plus for those worried about heating. But certified MSD PVC is also safe.

PVC: heat gun, stretch in 15–30 minutes per room, typical room — 1-day install. Fabric: stretch without heavy heat; wide sheets may need extra logistics.

Myth: “fabric is greener, PVC is harmful.” Reality: certified odorless MSD is safe for living spaces. Smell comes from cheap undocumented PVC, not the class itself.

Fabric doesn’t smell like plastic but costs more and isn’t for bathrooms. Kids’ rooms — matte MSD or fabric with certificates.

After PVC MSD install, ventilate 2–3 hours. Fabric is ready immediately.

Kitchen, bath, WC — PVC only: matte, gloss or satin. Bedroom, living room, study — PVC or fabric by budget and taste.

Hall and corridor — PVC (moisture, easy care). Kids’ room — matte MSD or fabric.

For most Tashkent flats quality PVC is enough. Fabric when you want premium textile and accept the premium price.
